I was doing my mental exercise this morning- reading something that would ‘work out’ my mind before I start the day when I came upon one of Robin Sharma’s quotations_ " The best among us are not more gifted than the rest" This is a powerful statement and one that we all need to keep close to us especially when we start doubting our own abilities. If we study what makes great people great what becomes quickly apparent is they take daily, deliberate steps towards their big vision. They put in the time. These great men and women started out just like you and me, with an intention, an idea, a desire. This they use as their beacon, their light house to guide them on a daily basis as to what little steps they can take to achieve their big intention.
What is your intention? Is it to lose weight? to get organized? to improve that relationship with your loved one? to be a better co-worker? to be a better person overall? Whatever your intention is set it and start taking daily, small deliberate steps to get there. Remember, your weight didn’t come on overnight, your relationship didn’t sour overnight nor did you start off being a sloppy employee. All these undesirable things in your life happened over time by you putting in the time to build them one little step at a time.
So, if you desire a new way of being, of living, of interacting with your co-workers, your children and yourself, put in the time to make your intention a reality- put in the time. It could be the difference between what makes you great and what makes you miserable! My challenge for you today is to identify one intention of yours and for the next 30 days put in 20 minutes daily, at the end of 30 days you would have invested 600 minutes into your intention!!! With this 600 minute time investment your desire for the intention will start to grow stronger and more positive, your daily actions will start to show it and guess what? The results you see in your life will show the value of this time investment! Are you up to this challenge?
