So, last post I shared with you how before you move ahead you must identify what you need to lay aside. I gave you the first of 3-ways the IDARE Life program helps you to do this see below:
- Close your Best Life Gap
Take a good long honest look at your life and identify what you need to keep and what you need to lay aside by reflecting on these statements:
- I look back on my life –what is the trail I’ve left behind?
- I interpret my life- what lessons have I learned from the trail of my life?
- I ask what my life means- where do I go now that I’ve identified my life’s lessons?
Now that you’ve created awareness of what’s stopping you from living your best life possible let’s look at the second way to identify what you need to lay aside: Return to your truths.
Virginia Woolf says “If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people”
This brings all sorts of negative energies such as dis empowerment, doubt, and fear. These in turn will result in anger and blame.
Beryl Markham, an English pioneer aviator (1902-1986) was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean from London to North America. She knew how important it is to know YOUR truths.
In her book, West with the Night, she is quoted as saying “you can live a lifetime and, at the end of it, know more about other people than you know about yourself” Does this resonate with you?
By learning the truths about yourself through closing the gap between living your best life and learning your truths you will start to really identify what you need to lay aside. This is when you start to experience the growth and development that you’re truly intended to live.

- I sort out my truths and commitments
- I check to see how they fit with how I am living
- My life reflects the principles I live by
